Gallery quality underwater photographic print by Paul Waldeck, available framed or unframed in several sizes.
The Harlequin Ghostpipefish is the most elegant of the Pipefish family. Much less common than its cousins, it is spectacular in its coloration and decoration. Although often exhibiting far less camouflage than other species of Ghostpipefish, this animal is colored very much like the sea fan it is hiding near. Coloration of these animals is highly variable and thought to be dependent on habitat. They feed on tiny crustaceans which are snapped from the open water or the botton.
The Harlequin Ghostpipefish makes a magnificent photo subject.
Photographed in the Solomon Islands.
