Hard Coral Colonies(Acropora) & Sea Fans(Melithaea)
Gallery quality underwater photographic print by Paul Waldeck, available framed or unframed in several sizes.

Hard corals are the building blocks of the coral reefs of the world. Coral polyps secrete limestone, leaving these deposits as the infrastructure of the reef. Hard corals only grow in relatively calm waters where the temperature is 77-88 degrees F

These table corals are horizontally layered so they each colony can take advantage of the sunlight in the relatively shallow water in which they thrive.

Photographed in Indonesia
